FASHION: Swarovski’s 7th Annual Fashion Suite at TIFF
7th September 2012For the seventh year, Swarovski is hosting its Fashion Suite at TIFF, this time at the brand new Shangri-La Hotel. We popped by the suite yesterday and had a look at some dazzling jewels.
What I love about the Fashion Suite is that it brings us one-of-a-kind pieces and showcases new and upcoming launches. For the 50th Anniversary of 007, the exclusive ‘Skyfall’ and Bond 50th Anniversary Collections showcase a creative collaboration with world renowned jewellery designer Stephen Webster. This collection features pieces that reference memorable scenes and props. From weapons to cars to the mysterious Octopussy.
I’m always a fan of Swarovski pieces, especially this season’s Kingdom of Jewels collection, which is a little bit darker and edgier.
“This collection embodies an array of medieval, eastern and Shakespearean influences which are revisited to create an avant-garde, rock artist look, or in other words someone who depicts Rock Royalty.”
At the Fashion Suite, we saw pieces from their Kingdom of Jewels Catwalk Collection, a collection which is on display exclusively during the festival during their one and only appearance in Canada. Unfortunately, this collection isnot available in stores – not that we could afford it even if it was. *sigh*
Jewellery is the ultimate accessory. Whether you want something understated or something bold. When it’s time for TIFF, there is only one way to rock your jewels, go big or go home.
