FASHION: 2 Years of Swarovski Men
9th October 2012When I think of men’s fashion and style, one of the last things I picture is a man standing in the sun sparkling like some knock-off twilight vampire, so two years ago when Swarovski launched their first men’s accessory collection I was a little wary, but after seeing the first preview as well the subsequent ones to follow my fears have been officially quelled.
Always known for their quality pieces and craftsmanship Swarovski took a different (and much appreciated) approach to the men’s collection than they do with the female counter-part. Instead of the traditional clear Swarovski crystals they have opted to go for black pave crystal, strong and masculine, perfect for any guy who wants to update his accessories without adding too much sparkle.
This season with more of a focus being placed on men, the collection has introduced some very strong and eye-catching pieces; a personal favourite of mine is the new Sinuous Pendant. An embodiment of power and wisdom the snake is found not only the pendant but also Sinuous cuff, using leather, stainless steel and black pave crystal to create a comfortable and stylish cuff for men.
As much as most hate to think about snow and Christmas just around the corner, now is the perfect time to start eyeing up that perfect Swarovski piece for you or your man, maybe surprise him this year with something different instead of a tie or wallet and see how after 117 years the company is still maintaining it’s strive for excellence while diversifying their client list as well as their product line.
