BEAUTY: Tweezerman Chats Brow Trends for WMCFW
The Perfect Tools for the Perfect Brows with Tweezerman
It’s official, WMCFW (World MasterCard Fashion Week) begins today. The tents are abuzz with models, designers, fashion industry, editors and bloggers alike. For the next five days, we’ll be covering both fashion and beauty on the runways and backstage.
One huge trend that’s been on the radar: eyebrows. Last week we had a moment to swing by the NKPR offices to see the upcoming Tweezerman collections and to chat about brow trends. Thick or thin? Dark or light? Here’s the scoop.
Globally, brows are becoming the facial focal point. The big instigator? According to make-up artist Sabrina Rinaldi, “Cara delavigne is the new IT model and she’s known for her thick eyebrows. It’s referenced over and over and she’s becoming what Kate Moss was in the 90’s. What were seeing over the last bit is a full, full brow that’s tamed. It’s not wild and crazy, it’s full but you’re really seeing a nice shape. On the runways, we’re seeing everything from gold brows and big black blocks.”
I know I can’t pull of the Cara Delavigne but it’s all about working with what you have. Not everyone will have that thick brow, or can pull it off. For a softer look, take a note from Victoria’s Secret Model Doutzen Kroes, who prefers a subtle thinner brow with a soft arch. For those who want something in between, Canadian fashion model/icon Linda Evangelista is known for a darker brow with a high arch. The key message is not to copy the runways but instead to highlight and point out that brows are of focus.
Before you make your way to the tents, check the mirror. Are your eyebrows runway ready? If not, don’t hesitate to make a pit stop and grab a pair of tweezers and an eyebrow pencil to make sure your eyebrows are ready for the spotlight.
