#SESTYLE: Obsessed with Bomber Jackets
What was once only worn by military pilots is now going mainstream. We aren’t talking about the shapeless, oversized bomber, this season’s bomber jacket is updated with a slimmer fit and often in a variety of fabrics and lengths. The bomber has replaced the autumn blazer and can be worn over almost anything. Keep it clean in all-weather leather, or hit refresh with bold prints and mixed materials.
Bomber Jacket, TNA. Ribbed Dress, Vero Moda. Sunglasses, Balmain. Choker, Aldo. Crossbody Bag, Topshop. Sneakers, Converse.
My daily uniform consists of mostly black. Black sweaters, black jeans, black shoes, and now, a black bomber. My go-to bomber jacket is similar to a sporty varsity with a felted wool body and leather sleeves. The body is a slimmer fit that stops around the hips. It’s a perfect way to add some edge to a dress or it can be worn with a pair of skinny jeans and easy tee.
The bomber jacket’s ease-to-wear and simple shape have secured its position as a cool classic. We’re taking a note from pilots past and taking streetwear up a notch this season.
