There’s no better combination than leather and fur, now add some wool and it’s simply stunning. Rudsak brought an edgy look to the runway with a collection inspired by the worlds most beautiful cities. The collection was exactly what any fashion lover wants to wear while strutting their way down the streets of their favourite cities.
Rudsak is always a show we look most forward to, because let’s face it, as Canadians we need to keep warm and this is the perfect way to do so. The detailing in each piece was exactly what takes your average winter coat up a level making you feel better about having to hid your outfit. Rudsak always brings leather detailing into their pieces in a way that has you following each piece as it goes on by. From shoulder patches to elbow patches and full sleeves to half sleeves, the leather detailing in each piece keeps Rudsak lovers coming back season after season.
As Canadians we simply can’t go a winter without keeping warm with fur weather it is a full coat or fur detailing, it’s always the best way to stay warm and cozy day after day. Rudsak’s fur detailing is always eye-catching with their iconic hoods and stunning handbags it was a great way to end day four of World MasterCard Fashion Week.

When Hayley Elsaesser first wowed Toronto with her bold pattern mixing on models sporting glitter-encrusted center parts, I wasn’t sure what I thought. Is this a kooky one-off newcomer riding on shock value? Is the youngster of previous Australian fame suited for the slightly more tame Toronto audience?
Then, in her second show at World Mastercard Fashionweek to debut her Fall/Winter 2015 collection, it all started to make sense to me. This girl has got it right. Her signature quirk this time around (hair glitter is so last season) played out in dots of colour beneath the eyes of her models, some made to look creepy and some dolly-cute. The mad patterns are a mainstay and much welcomed. They’re just the jolt of energy the bland winter palette might be missing. Elsaesser seems to scoff at the classic black trench, and we approve.
The fun with pattern and colour gives me the same kind of feeling that early Bathing Ape did when Pharrell was printing huge monkeys on thick hoodies and they were all I wanted for Christmas. This has the same cool kid vibe and unapologetic weirdness. The line is charming and a strong push to think outside the box and take yourself a little less seriously. I hope Elsaesser is here to stay.

Day two of World MasterCard Fashion Week brought a fashionable and completely wearable feel to the runway. There’s something about the crisp white runway and bright lights that make each piece look absolutely stunning. It’s always is refreshing seeing pieces that can be worn right off the runway and become the newest piece in your wardrobe.
Melissa Nepton brought a classic and wearable collection that was filled with pastel colours, grey, black and white, creating a collection of pieces that will have you thinking Spring before the last snow fall. Each look made its way down the runway with a classy and sophisticated feel from top to bottom. From wool dresses to peplum pants, Nepton pushed the limits creating a collection that was sure to be talked about all week long. With her inspiration being a winter warrior it’s no doubt that all women will be ready to take on the ice, snow and whatever our outrageous Canadian winters plan on throwing your way.
During the cooler months there are some pieces that every girl simply can’t go without, whether it be a wool coat or textured trousers the collection managed to squeeze it all into one fabulous assembly of exactly what women want to stay warm and look good. Winter is long enough as it is, why bother making it feel even longer with clothing that we don’t love!
