An ESSIE nail can change a lot in a show, the finish, the design and the colour really do make a difference between shows. What I love most about the outstanding designs by Rita Remark is that they not only reflect the collection, they bring out the designers vision in a way that speaks to beauty lovers.
Day 3 of World MasterCard Fashion Week brought us two different ESSIE creations for one big fashion day! The shows, the designs and the nails created a mix between texture and pattern. Mackage was all about creating that matte finish using matte about you over berry naughty creating a beautifully finished negative space nail that complemented the collections 70’s inspiration.
Hayley Elsaesser always brings fun and excitement to the runway through pieces that pop with colour and outrageous pattern. This season Rita created a nail that looked as though it jumped off each piece. With the collections 70’s glam inspiration, the patterns, colour and combinations were a great choice to complement this fun loving collection. Using meet me at sunset, naughty nautical, mod square and butler please these eye-catching nail designs will definitely become a popular nail trend during any season.

When Hayley Elsaesser first wowed Toronto with her bold pattern mixing on models sporting glitter-encrusted center parts, I wasn’t sure what I thought. Is this a kooky one-off newcomer riding on shock value? Is the youngster of previous Australian fame suited for the slightly more tame Toronto audience?
Then, in her second show at World Mastercard Fashionweek to debut her Fall/Winter 2015 collection, it all started to make sense to me. This girl has got it right. Her signature quirk this time around (hair glitter is so last season) played out in dots of colour beneath the eyes of her models, some made to look creepy and some dolly-cute. The mad patterns are a mainstay and much welcomed. They’re just the jolt of energy the bland winter palette might be missing. Elsaesser seems to scoff at the classic black trench, and we approve.
The fun with pattern and colour gives me the same kind of feeling that early Bathing Ape did when Pharrell was printing huge monkeys on thick hoodies and they were all I wanted for Christmas. This has the same cool kid vibe and unapologetic weirdness. The line is charming and a strong push to think outside the box and take yourself a little less seriously. I hope Elsaesser is here to stay.
