An ESSIE nail can change a lot in a show, the finish, the design and the colour really do make a difference between shows. What I love most about the outstanding designs by Rita Remark is that they not only reflect the collection, they bring out the designers vision in a way that speaks to beauty lovers.
Day 3 of World MasterCard Fashion Week brought us two different ESSIE creations for one big fashion day! The shows, the designs and the nails created a mix between texture and pattern. Mackage was all about creating that matte finish using matte about you over berry naughty creating a beautifully finished negative space nail that complemented the collections 70’s inspiration.
Hayley Elsaesser always brings fun and excitement to the runway through pieces that pop with colour and outrageous pattern. This season Rita created a nail that looked as though it jumped off each piece. With the collections 70’s glam inspiration, the patterns, colour and combinations were a great choice to complement this fun loving collection. Using meet me at sunset, naughty nautical, mod square and butler please these eye-catching nail designs will definitely become a popular nail trend during any season.

Our editors are backstage of World MasterFashion Week chatting with Rita Remark, Essie Canada Lead Nail Artist getting you the inside scoop on all that is Essie. Here’s what happened backstage on day one and two.
With inspirations being taken from the past, Mikhael Kale wanted more of a subtle and nude look, but when your on the runway it’s all about that eye-catching effect and with a combination of Essie Sand Tropez and Blanc a pale chiffon effect was born.
Sometimes a little goes a long away, and sometimes the littlest of details have the biggest of meanings. Pink Tartan may have had a soft and simple looking nail but when really paying attention to detail you will see that the pinky nails were the start of the Essie show using Inspired by Japanese and Tibetan culture, this nail look was on point what it came to symbolization. With one hands symbol meaning “Goddess” and the others meaning “God” these women are sure to out on a fierce show in a strong collection.
On day two we saw a more bold approach when it came to the nails. Melissa Nepton was inspired by a romantic winter warrior and influences by Asian culture, the collection was very textured with heavy wools and light silks. The Nepton nail was created using After School Boy Blazer and No Place Like Chrome To create a look that reflected different textures by creating a quarter moon nail look.

Line Knitwear hit the runway on day two of World MasterCard Fashion week with warmth and attitude. The collection was all about showing the texture in the fabrics with metallics, leather and wool, creating a must have feel for fall/winter 2013.
This wearable collection featured pieces from edgy and sleek to soft and cozy, perfect for the crisp Canadian air.
Backstage we saw a pop of colour in the eyes, adding a maroon shadow on the lid and finishing off the look with a clear gloss over top of the shadow, making it look slick and ultra glossy on the runway. The skin was very
natural with a nude lip keeping the focus on the colourful eye and brushing up the brow using hairspray to keep the hairs in place. The natural and organic look is hot for fall while adding the perfect touch of colour to this edgy collection.
