After the past long and extremely hot summer we’ve had it’s nice to have a few cooler days lined up. Fall is a season filled with changes and colours for both the weather and our wardrobe. One thing I love about fall is how quickly and easily we can swap our sandals for booties and florals for plaid.
When planning your weekend wardrobe be sure to think comfy and cozy, especially if your planning on simply lounging around. When selecting your comfy weekend pieces remember not to limit yourself to sweats and hoodies, try picking out clothes that you can look good in while feeling comfy, even if your planning on spending your weekend outdoors.
Tshirt, $10, Joe Fresh // Plaid Shirt, $15, Hudson’s Bay // Sunglasses, $145, Ray Bans // Colour Blur Lip Stick, $10, Maybelline // Leggy Ledgend, $10, Essie // Jeans, $35, Forever 21 // Shoes, $39, Joe Fresh
When dressing for fall it’s important to always remamber that the weather is constantly changing, whether your planning on staying indoors or out, it won’t hurt to bring along a sweater (or a plaid shirt). From finger nail to distressed jeans, it’s all in the details this fall and adding a few extra to any look will be the perfect way to tie your weekend trends together.

As summer slowly approaches and I mean slowly, it’s time to bring out the flowy, comfortable threads that you were oh so sad to pack away last fall. I for one love nothing more than fall fashion, but when Summer comes along I must say, I can’t wait to show a little skin, tastefully of course.
This season, try ditching the crop top and wearing longer layers with your high waisted skirt, it looks great and it’s a perfect way to pair two classic trends, long layers and a high waisted maxi skirt.
Long Layer Top, $14.99, Winners // High Waisted Maxi Skirt, $24.99, Boohoo.com // Gold Heart Necklace, $1000, Tiffany & Co // Black and Blue Tortoiseshell Sunglasses, Edit by Jeanne Becker // Flats, $19.99, TJ Maxx
This simple look is extremely transitional and can be worn for just about any outing, day or night. I love this look as a transitional day to evening style taking you from work meetings, to patio drinks with friends, it’s both fashionable and functional for whatever Summer weather is thrown your way.

With the unpredictable weather as of late, I’m all about the layers. But just because we’re layering, doesn’t mean it has to be bulky. From running errands to brunch-dates, this season it’s all about flattering yet comfortable laid-back looks.
Recycled Polyester/Acrylic Poncho Sweater, $128, Anthropologie // Cotton/Elastane Cropped Denim, $280, Paige // Polycarbonate Sunglasses, $180, Warby Parker // Vegan Leather Clutch, $129, Nella Bella // Silver Bracelet, $275, Links of London // Suede Wedge Sandals, $90, Dolce Vita
This outfit is the epitome of casual spring style. I love this oversized poncho sweater, which is loose and comfortable. I’ve combined it with a pair of light-coloured, cropped denim, nude wedge sandals and an easy-to-carry clutch. Although the sweater is oversized, the fitted and cropped denim give shape to the silhouette. I was running errands around the city before grabbing dinner with a girlfriend and this outfit was perfect for the occasion. For those chilly evenings, where we’re aching for the summer heat, this outfit helps you stay cool and casual.

Spring may be here but some days it still feels a little too chilly for open toes and sandals, which is why I’m still kicking around the city in booties.
What better way to wear a high heeled bootie than with a great pair of leggings. Yes, I know what your thinking, leggings again, well the truth is I’m obsessed with the comfort, convenience and luxury look they bring everytime I style them.
Spring is a great time of year to bring out the colour, be a bit more playful and kick back after a long winter, but sometimes you just gotta go with black. I for one am a strong believer in simplicity and as much as I love bright colours and sparkles, I have always been more of a neutral kinda girl. You can never go wrong with black, especially for work, it’s easy to style and can be worn day through night. I often find myself meeting up with friends, heading to events or grabbing a bite to eat after work, so wearing something comfortable and transitional is definetly top of my list!

If you don’t own a Little Black Dress (LBD), then you need to rectify this situation.
This past weekend, I was invited to join a friend at the Starlight Gala at The Royal York Hotel, supporting the Starlight Children’s Foundation, a non-profit organization that lifts the spirits of ill children and their loved ones. As it was a last minute invite, I thought I had nothing to wear. I sifted through my closet and spotted my LBD, my style saviour for the night.
There are many reasons why every woman needs a LBD. The LBD is simple and elegant and offers versatility as it can be dressed up (for a gala) or down (for a weekday or dinner out). Jewellery and accessories also play a part in completing the look.
My LBD was a simple, silk dress with a halter neckline and straight silhouette. I opted for minimal jewellery (almost none), and instead paired the dress with an asymmetrical cape, cut-out heels and a patent clutch for added dimension.
The LBD is truly timeless. It’s simple, sophisticated and flatters any and all body types. It can also be found in a variety of fabrics, silhouettes, lengths and styles. There’s a reason why the LBD is deemed a wardrobe essential, and my LBD just saved my Saturday night.
