With every Fall Winter comes a must have jacket, or in this case about a dozen must have jackets. On day two of Toronto Fashion Week SOSKEN hit the runway with a collection of stunning coats with even the simplest of details that changed the look completely.
The collection was filled with a mix of wearable styles that are perfect for warmer fall days and cooler winter nights. Simple details can sometimes make the difference between a nice coat and a beautiful and one that can simply be dressed up or down depending on how you style it. Each piece made it’s way down the runway capturing the attention of every stylist, blogger and fashion lover with the close attention to detail, pattern and colour combination that pieced together the entire show.
#SEStyle Tip: To get more out of your everyday jacket or parka try playing with accessories by adding a belt over top to add a little structure or drop your favourite scarf over your shoulder for a great evening look

Elisa Dahan and Eran Elfassy, creative directors of the coveted brand Mackage, are the only team in the world that could possibly make me look forward to winter. The thought of repeating the horrifying freeze Toronto just went through is completely unbearable with one strict exception. I was introduced that one-off miracle at World Mastercard Fashion Week, day 3. The only way to face Jack Frost again is draped in Mackage’s Fall/Winter 2015 line. Whip him away with Mackage’s long leather tassels, melt him with their deep red hues, and cast him out in from behind their dramatic, opulent furs.
Mackage for Fall/Winter 2015 is preparing wearers for stylish, outdoor winter fun (albeit more for those who prefer the chalet to the slopes). Quilted snow pants with draped suspenders for him, and asymmetrical leather skirts under fur lined bombers for her. Paired with the classically gorgeous leather accessories, whether backpacks or purses are your style, there’s no way you can go wrong in Mackage this winter.

The winter months tend to bring much more than shorter days, chilly nights and hot coco. They also bring the thing that women hate almost as much as dry and damaged hair, dry and damaged skin. This is what makes us absolutely dread winter more than any other season.
During winter we often find ourselves covering up to keep warm, this is a great way not to expose our skin to the cold. It is very important to keep our skin fully moisturized daily by using both a moisturizing cleanser and cream with our skin being constantly exposed to wind, snow and frost.
Daily Moisturizing Body Wash, $8 , Aveeno
Using a moisturizing body wash is a great way to moisturize your skin even more. Moisturizing after a shower should be an important part of your daily routine to keep your skin soft, now think of how much softer your skin would be by using a moisturizing body wash. It’s the best way to keep your skin moisturized and soft to touch.
Regenerating Cream Cleanser, $14, Olay
Try using a deep cleanser that will protect your skin from the cold and exfoliate to leave it feeling soft. Using a rich exfoliant is a great way to clear away dead skin leaving you with a regenerated and fresh facial appearance.
Restorative Argan Body Lotion, $50, Kiehl’s
Lightweight body lotion is a great way to keep your skin moisturized daily. Try using a moisturizer that is infused with natural oils that will help keep your skin soft and hydrated. Oil infused body moisturizers will not only help soften your skin healthy looking, it will leave it soft and moisturized all season long while preventing dry flakey skin.
Moisture Rescue Gel Cream, $10, Garnier
Keeping your skin moisturized is important, especially the skin that is constantly exposed, like your face. Try using products on your face that lock in moisture and revitalize your dry skin. Using a lightweight cream feels refreshing and cooling, while leaving your skin feeling fresh and soft all day long.
We can always tell when it is winter because it’s written all over our faces. That’s why it is important to save your skin this winter and get it ready for Spring and Summer by simply cleansing and moisturizing every morning and evening to prevent dry and damaged skin.

As you’ve recently seen, our editors have been bundled up in hoods and fur to brave this winter wonderland in style during the month of February. Everyone is coming out of their shells a bit more after recovering from the holiday whirlwind, and things to do are popping up across the city. For the past ten years, Toronto’s historic and posh Bloor-Yorkville neigbourhood has hosted a spectacular outdoor event called Icefest. The festival takes inspiration from the elements by creating gorgeous sculptures out of ice to take festival goers to another world. This year, the gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt will be reanimated throughout the neighbourhood during the 2015 display entitled, “Frozen in Time”.
Expect live ice carving demonstrations and artistic feats such as 3-D ice pyramids and notorious deities of Egyptian lore like Isis. Icefest will also be your chance to give back to the community during Heart Month, with chances to do your part for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Visit Cumberland St. and Yorkville’s park between 12-5 on Feb. 21 and Feb. 22 between 12 and 5 PM to catch 20,000 lbs. of transformed ice, DJ Bellosound, and special treats at participating locales like Sassafraz, Holt Renfrew, and Carol’s Cheesecake Company. See you there!

As Canadians, we have no choice but to get used to the change in weather and as the seasons start to change so does our wardrobe, but our footwear doesn’t always have to. Your shoes are a great way to transition your looks from season to season.
Every woman loves a good boot and no matter what season we are in having a great transitional bootie will make all the difference when transitioning from snow to slush and rain to mud. Search out boots that are extremely weather friendly, yes we get it, UGGS may feel comfortably but the convenience and comfort gets compromised quite quickly once the rain and snow hits.
For an edgier look try pairing your everyday trends with a simple and classic boot that’s always in style. This edgy style is a perfect way to make a statement during any season and looks great as you begin to transition your wardrobe from winter to spring.
